The decisions and dramas of packing continue apace. To be honest Ive always taken a 'it'll be alright on the night' approach to packing - whatever we forget can be either retrieved at a later date or replaced with a local alternative as appropriate. Its not as though we are off to Mongolia say, or Chile - Geneva is but a short hop relatively speaking. For instance Welling to Inverness is 591 miles to drive whereas Geneva is 607 miles (source:Google maps). And in any case Im given to understand it to be a fairly civilised place. Well we shall see if they have HP sauce - surely a strong indicator of sophistication and modernity (Im packing a squeezy bottle just in case)
This will in any case be only phase 1 of the G&C to Geneva project. The father in law has floated the idea of allowing us to use his ultra-modern van for phase 2 which is excellent news. This will allow us to move just about all our junk so we better make sure we secure a decent sized flat to fit it all in (plus a spare room for visitors - yes that means you).
Anyway things may stall slightly today as a televised orgy of sport seems to be available for my viewing pleasure - there is the ODI againt the windies, the Monaco Grand prix and of course what SKY are calling 'Survival Sunday' in the premiership. As I say - it'll be alright on the night......
Well done on the blog Graeme - I told you it was easy-peasy... I did it!
ReplyDeleteAll the best in Geneva - I'm looking forward to hearing your stories.
Have a safe journey :)
What's the story? How come you are moving to Geneva?
ReplyDeleteHmm.... I guess that explains why it costs me so much to get flights home to Inverness! Good luck with the move dude and speak soon!
